Wild Marbles II.

The installation works with the imitation of stone on wooden materials, as it is commonly used in the Czech context in sacral architecture and above all in altarpieces. Out of discarded furniture and painted patina a new piece of architecture emerges, entering the facade of the House of Culture and responding to the aesthetics of the former regime. From a distance the marble patina is illusionistic, like real stone, but on closer inspection it admits to its brushstrokes and to a rough constructional solution at the level of structure. On a deeper level this formal game is about the ever-present problem of presenting truth.
