Art in the City 2021

CITY — the theme of the city as a living organism, growing out of the needs of communication, social life, housing, trade and storage. An organism that changes with the time of day, where the same place feels and works differently at different hours of the day and night. Artistic interpretations inspired by the city, by its changes and by its people, enter the city to stir the feelings of residents and visitors alike.

The 14th edition of the festival thus hosts installations in the air, on the water and on the ground in the public space of South Bohemian cities, inviting unexpected encounters and confrontations.

We are meeting after a hard year in which most of us were shut into involuntary isolation and quarantine. For many artists it was fortunately not a difficult time, since they often shut themselves away in their studios and their thoughts of their own accord, in order to give those thoughts new and varied forms.
After a year full of online interaction, I would therefore like to invite you to meet real sculptural forms. I wish you an experience of all the senses and sharpened feelings from meeting sculptures in the city.
