Freedom…

This sculpture expresses my feelings about the present, which I find fraught and constricting. It came about as a second project following the sculpture A Hand Held Out, which we installed at a time when the borders were closed because of the Covid pandemic. The barbed wire I deliberately built into the sculpture is again a symbolic reminder of restricted freedom. The detail of the barbed wire and the three dots in the title underline the change in how freedom is felt, which I have lived through since the 1990s.
