Reconnect

My project is not sculptural at all; it is an installation built on mystification. At the core of my concept is a temporarily installed billboard presenting the planned revitalisation of a given site in the radical spirit of reconnecting with nature. The obvious target for this idea is the temples of consumption, which by now no larger town has escaped and which are often brutally inserted into historic streets or desecrate a piece of nature, with little architectural value to show for it. I would therefore like to make a banner carrying a visualisation of a newly grown forest on the site of a shopping centre. I picture the banner as graphically convincing, imitating the real banners of building projects. I would like to keep the hints that this is a joke down to a level at which the installation could not be challenged by the party it might harm or exploit, while an inattentive viewer with no sense of humour will at least be briefly confused. From an attentive viewer I would expect amusement and perhaps deeper reflection as well.
