Another Fragment of the Blue Light

This is precisely a fragment of the installation presented as the final bachelor's project — In the Glow of Blue Light — and part of the Blue Light project. As the title hints, it refers to one of today's phenomena: to connect to social networks, we have to expose ourselves to blue light. The project looks at this phenomenon not as a global question in the shape of yet another public medium, which is not its original purpose, but from the point of view of an individual's relationships, and so becomes a kind of superstructure on top of the existing social networks. It adds to them means we would probably not expect there and would not immediately associate with them. At the same time those means stand for almost the same thing, or else are chosen so as to force at least some reflection on the present state of relationships. Relationships are not automatically understood here as being between several people, but also as the relationship each of us has to ourselves — which on social networks turns entirely into defining oneself according to the presumed opinion of the others we label as “friends”... more
