Zuzana Kantová

Zuzana Kantová was born on 14 April 1986 in Klatovy, where she still lives and works. From 2001 to 2005 she studied stone sculpture at the Zámeček private secondary school of applied arts in Plzeň. She then continued at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where between 2007 and 2013 she completed the studio of figurative sculpture and medal making under Jan Hendrych. In 2011 she took part in a residency in Taiwan. Since 2008 she has been teaching art at schools.

Her work spans figurative and portrait sculpture, commemorative medals and monuments, stone carving and restoration. She restored the sculptural group Mother with Child by Jiří Hanzálek for the hospital in Klatovy and is the author of the monument to General Josef Pták in the village of Luby. In 2021 she took second place in the Hana Wichterlová portrait sculpture competition. She is a member of the Union of Fine Artists of the Plzeň Region.

For the festival she created NOHY (Legs) – concrete objects in the shape of legs, installed by the Water Tower in České Budějovice.
