Vojtěch Hrubant

Vojtěch Hrubant (*1990) is a Czech multimedia artist working in sculpture, printmaking and intermedia art. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in the Printmaking I studio under Jiří Lindovský and Dalibor Smutný, and also completed placements in Lukáš Rittstein’s Sculpture studio and at the Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto.

Since 2018 he has worked as a technologist and assistant professor in the printmaking workshops of the Academy of Fine Arts. He is a member of the Hollar Association of Czech Printmakers and a two-time laureate of the Print of the Year competition. In his work he brings together traditional printmaking techniques and contemporary media and experimental approaches. He has long been concerned with the relationship between space, matter, repetition and the mutability of form.
