Radek Andrle

Sculptor and printmaker, born on 24 December 1976 in Prague. From 1991 to 1995 he studied sculpture at the Private Master School of Art Design in Prague. After school he accepted an offer from Olbram Zoubek and from 1995 to 2011 (16 years) worked as an assistant in his studio; in 2011 he left the studio and devoted himself fully to his own work.

He has exhibited solo since 2003. He is a member of the free association Umělecká beseda. His work is marked by a lasting interest in the human figure; he makes chiefly reliefs, sculptures and prints. His best-known series is “Femme Fatale”, in which each sculpture stands for a particular woman who profoundly shaped his life; other cycles are Harmony, Coloured Curves and the more recent Aeronauts.

Sculpture symposia: Džbán, Hředle near Rakovník (2005) and Seník, Hlubočec Farm near Hradec nad Moravicí (2010).

His works are in private collections in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the United Kingdom, Germany, the USA and France. He lives and works with his family in Prague (studio in Prague-Karlín).
