Petr Mucha

Petr Mucha was born on 1 December 1983 in Brno. He is a Czech sculptor and artist — not to be confused with the historical athlete of the same name (1902–1934).

He graduated from an art secondary school in Písek in 2003. He then studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology, in Sculpture Studio 1 under Michal Gabriel. In 2015 he completed an Erasmus+ placement at Gedok Stuttgart. Alongside his art he works as a graphic designer, DTP operator and freelance illustrator and CG artist.

His studio work includes the sculpture “Monad” (2021) — a welded steel sculpture from the “Harmony” series, inspired by harmonic intervals and the idealised proportions of the human figure. From his earlier, more figurative work, the bust “Havel” (2012) and the cycle of drawings and paintings “Between Space and Time” are documented.

At Art in the City 2026 in České Budějovice he is the author of the work Ascension, a figurative sculpture in welded steel and fibreglass whose subject is the human desire to cross boundaries and to surpass oneself.
