Miroslav Straka (b. 1953) graduated from the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Uherské Hradiště (industrial design) and from the Faculty of Education of Palacký University in Olomouc (mathematics and art education). He works in drawing, painting, sculpture and design. For a long time he worked in another field and art was a passion; his paintings and sculptures are in private collections in Europe, the USA and Australia.

Solo exhibitions: 2004 Skácelík Gallery Olomouc; 2012 Gallery 77 Kroměříž; 2012 the Kupé café and restaurant, Brno; 2012–2013 Zeman’s café and patisserie, Brno; 2013 Gallery N7 Prostějov.

Awards: 3rd place in the anonymous architectural and art competition for the design of a fountain for T. G. Masaryk Square in Přerov (2001).

Participation in Art in the City: 2022 (České Budějovice) and 2024 — the work NO-SENSE-NESS, České Budějovice.
