Linda Wrong

Linda Wrong (*1989), whose civil name is Linda Páleníková (listed on the Academy of Fine Arts website as “Wrong Páleníková”, MgA.), is a Czech sculptor and visual artist. From 2011 to 2016 she studied in Ústí nad Labem in Jiří Kovanda’s studio. She graduated from Lukáš Rittstein’s sculpture studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (diploma work 2019); during her studies she also attended Jiří Příhoda’s studio of monumental work and Pavla Sceranková and Dušan Zahoranský’s Intermedia II studio. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the Academy, researching materials and the carbon footprint in contemporary sculpture — she examines “the new aesthetic freedom of technologically advanced and innovative materials in the position of the interpretive field of the sculptural object”, resulting among other things in objects made of ceramic foam and recycled plastic. Her work focuses on sculpture, installation, the motif of the “urban jungle”, ecology and pop culture. She has exhibited in the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Indonesia and Ukraine.

Selected exhibitions and works: VáclavART, Wenceslas Square, Prague (2017 — the Horses cycle, polyester; 2018, 2019); The Most Beautiful Age — graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts 2019; Anticontext (Linda Wrong, Julius Reichel, Adam Tureček), Via Art Gallery, Prague; Three Dimensions of Love — They Studied Sculpture with Lukáš Rittstein, Gallery of Modern Art, Roudnice nad Labem; Sensed Landscapes and Histories (with Alžběta Rajchlová), Komedie Theatre, Prague 2022/2023; Art in the City 2020, České Budějovice — the sculpture Nemesis (recycled plastic); ART WEEK Liberec 2023. In 2025 her falcon reliefs on the Sokol hall in Břevnov took 1st place in the Educational Achievement of the Year category at the Sokol of the Year 2025 awards. She has a studio near the Hradčanská metro station in Prague, where she also runs art courses for children.
