Jakub Štark

Jakub Štark (*1982) is a Czech street art and graffiti artist from České Budějovice, who signs himself ROBOT X 8203, 8RO-X and SILENT 8203. He has been doing graffiti and street art since 1996, working mainly in České Budějovice and South Bohemia. He has gradually carried his painting over into many forms and materials — ceramics, wood, metal, stone, snow, ice, sand — and into street art, land art and animation. He also paints pictures on canvas and wood in various techniques (oil, acrylic, spray, airbrush and combinations of these). He has made a number of commissioned works indoors and out (clubs, bars, restaurants, primary schools, youth centres, public spaces, private interiors, children’s rooms). He takes part in street art, graffiti and sculpture symposia in the Czech Republic and abroad; he has left his traces on the Berlin Wall, in Hungary and in a hairdressing salon in Ireland.

At twenty-one his passion for graffiti brought him to the brink of life and death, but he won his fight in hospital. He has repeatedly taken part in the City=Gallery festival (Kutná Hora 2017, Čáslav 2021, Mladá Boleslav 2023, Poděbrady 2025).

At Art in the City 2020 he made the large-format painting “The Geometry of Water” on the Máj housing estate in České Budějovice (E. Rošického street).
