Iva Kolorenčová

Iva Kolorenčová (*1981, Liberec) is a Czech artist, designer and curator. She studied at the Secondary School of Applied Arts for Glassmaking in Železný Brod and in the Glass studio at the Faculty of Art and Design of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. She completed placements abroad in Finland and at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. She finished her doctorate at the Faculty of Art and Design in Ústí nad Labem with a focus on innovative technologies in glass. She works as a teacher and curator in Ústí nad Labem.

Her work moves between free art and design. She experiments with thermochromic and hydrochromic materials, which change their properties with temperature or humidity, and applies them to glass objects, jewellery and interactive installations. She has long been concerned with the relationship between material, light and the mutability of perception.

Since 2019 she has formed, together with Markéta Váradiová, the artistic duo Circumpunct, devoted to site-specific installations and conceptual projects using glass, light and space as their principal means of expression.
