Eliška Perglerová

Sculptor and intermedia artist. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague — Professor Jindřich Zeithamml’s Sculpture II studio and Professor Jiří Příhoda’s studio of monumental work; she completed a placement at Taipei National University of the Arts (Taiwan). Her work oscillates between sculpture, installation, drawing, performance and happening. She makes trainer-objects which as a rule do not work without the viewer’s interaction: they test their power of concentration and make them work through personal fears and anxieties. She takes up phobias, nightmares, stress, distractedness and the lack of time and focus. Besides working with galleries she consistently makes installations in public space. Since 2016 she has co-run the One Hour Gallery, and since 2017 she has worked regularly with Lenka Kerdová.

She has exhibited in the Czech Republic and abroad and has taken part in a number of festivals of art in public space — among them Kukačka (Ostrava), Void x Repletion (Pardubice), the m3 festival (Prague) and Art in the City (České Budějovice, 2023 — the work “Nakedness in Public”, the Žižkárna cultural centre).
