Ashish Mohite

Ashish Mohite is an Indian architect, designer and researcher based in Finland. He completed his bachelor’s degree in architecture in India — in 2007 he received the Charles Correa Gold Medal for the best bachelor’s thesis in India. He then worked, taught and exhibited in India and in Europe. At Aalto University in Espoo (Finland) he was a doctoral candidate in the Department of Art and worked at ADDLAB (Aalto University Digital Design Laboratory) and in teaching Design of Structures; he completed his doctorate in architecture at Aalto University. His research focuses on the notion of craft in the process of digital fabrication.

He is co-founder and chief technology officer (CTO) of Hyperion Robotics, a Finland-based company that is among the leading European firms in 3D concrete printing for construction. In 2023 he was named Young Research Entrepreneur of the Year in Finland (Vuoden nuori tutkijayrittäjä).

At the Art in the City festival he showed 3D-printed works made in cooperation with PETMAT and Hyperion Robotics in 2019: “Bench” (Hotel Budweis, České Budějovice), “Corrugated Chairs and Table” (the city beach by the Vltava, České Budějovice) and “Corrugated Benches” (Malé Lipno, Černá v Pošumaví).
